China Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Society "Lu Shandong Scholarship" Selection Method

The first China Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Society (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is entrusted by Mr. Lu Zhidong, Mr. Lu Zhiyuan and Mr. Lu Chaoqun, to apply for the “Lu Shandong Scholarship” (hereinafter referred to as the Scholarship) of the China Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Society, and to reward the National Taipei University of Science and Technology. Excellent students from the National Cheng Kung University and the National Institute of Materials and Resources Engineering of the National Chiao Tung University, and specially selected the "Lu Shandong Scholarship" of the China Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Society (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures").
Article 2 Candidates for this scholarship shall meet the following conditions:
Excellent student of the Department of Materials and Resources Engineering, Taipei University of Science and Technology, Institute of Resource Engineering, University of Science and Technology, and Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Jiaotong University.
Currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program (excluding fresh graduates)
In the last two semesters of the actual course, the average academic score is more than 85 points or recommended by the director of the institute. It is proved to be the top two in terms of good character and academic achievement, and no other scholarships have been accepted.
Those who have received this scholarship may not apply again.
Scholarship students are required to provide 300-500 words of research papers.
Article 3 The number of scholarships is three per year. One of each is assigned by the Taipei University of Science and Technology, the University of Science and Technology, and the Institute of Materials and Resources Engineering of Jiaotong University. Each scholarship is awarded NT$10,000.
Article 4 At the annual meeting of the "Lu Shandong Scholarship", the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Lushi family will present scholarships and awards.
Article 5 The selection of this scholarship is as follows:
The Association will set up a "Lu Shandong Scholarship" jury to handle the assessment.
Nine to eleven members of the selection committee shall be nominated by the chairman of the board of directors and one of them shall be appointed as the chairman. After the approval of the board of directors, they shall be appointed before May 30 of the first year of each session for a term of two years.
The selection committee shall send a letter to the relevant university department about the scholarship application form before June 30 of each year. Please recommend candidates.
The directors of the relevant university research institutes recommend one candidate, and send the application and related attachments to the Association before July 31 of each year.
If necessary, the selection committee may ask the candidate to interview or go to the school to visit and complete the preliminary examination before August 31. Scholarship principals should be invited to attend the selection meeting.
When voting for the election, the selection committee members shall attend the voting in person. If they are truly unable to participate, they may be entrusted to other members in writing, and each person can only represent one person. The representative shall not exceed one-fourth of the members.
Each candidate must have a voter rate of more than two-thirds (inclusive) and one of the winners.
The research papers of the award-winning students shall be submitted to the Publishing Committee of the Association for review and publication in the “Mineral and Metallurgy” journal of the Association in accordance with the draft of the Mining and Metallurgical Journals (300-500 words in English) before the end of the year.
Article 6 The selection committee shall submit the results of the election review to the joint meeting of the Board of Supervisors in September for final approval.
Article 7 This selection method shall be implemented after the adoption of the Council of the Association, and the same shall apply to the amendment.
